Federal Hall, New York

Here is where George Washington was inaugurated as President on April 30, 1789, taking his oath on the balcony that overlooks Wall Street. The Building was originally constructed as the City Hall in 1699-1700, It was extensively remodeled and enlarged after the Revolution and was renamed Federal Hall when it served as the temporary capitol of the United States, in 1789-1790.
