Dear Mr. Huckaby -



I want to assure you that John Pitner is, indeed, a federal

prisoner in SEATAC Federal Detention Center, and has been kept

there unsentenced for the past four years on bogus charges.



He is my friend, and I met him long before his arrest and

imprisonment. I have been trying to bring attention to his

situation & get him released, in every way I can think of,

since he was first jailed. I have written letters and made

phone calls to public officials & the media, to prison officials

and 'watchdog' agencies, gone on public radio programs, and

filed complaints with the Dept of Justice about the mishandling

of this case. All of my efforts have been to no avail.



I assure you, John is a real person and this is really happening.

It is not a 'bogus' attempt to fool anyone or scam people out

of their hard-earned money. I have contributed to John's Defense

Fund myself, and I am continuing to do so on a regular basis.



You cannot have any idea what this man has gone through, as the

public appeal for assistance does not even scratch the surface

of what has taken place in this case. The FBI knowingly used a

paid informant to lie about John under oath... the presiding judge

refused to let the jury know that the informant had failed FBI

polygraph examinations 8 times, when questioned pre-trial about

his testimony regarding John... the sworn testimony and taped

recordings of an undercover FBI agent & the paid informant repeatedly

showed that John was deliberately kept from knowing about any

illegal activities which were taking place... no testimony was

ever given at trial, by anyone except the informant, that John

participated in or even knew about any of the crimes charged...

the FBI illegally searched John's home under the guise of being

home-buyers, and they found nothing incriminating or illegal,

despite the paid informant's statements that Pitner was amassing

arms & explosives there... the FBI wire-tapped John's phones

for over 18 months, without proper court approval, yet never

produced any evidence of wrong-doing on his part... the paid

informant instigated & participated in the making of death threats

against John while the undercover investigation was taking place...

I could go on & on listing such blatant and nefarious activities

which were utilized by the authorities to ensure that this man

was arrested & jailed improperly, but it gets to the point where

people refuse to believe that such things could happen in America.



I swear to you, in this case they did. It is all there, in the 4,000+

pages of trial transcript, for anyone to see.



When I speak to anyone about this case, I never include anything

alleged by John, or the other defendants, or the defense. I don't

have to. Everything I say was testified to under oath, by the

prosecutions own witnesses.



John's re-trial on conspiracy charges is set to begin on Nov. 27th,

2000. Barring further delaying tactics by the federal prosecutors,

in their attempts to force him to 'plea-bargain' by pleading guilty

to a lesser charge, that is when this travesty of justice will next

continue in a court of law.



I will be there. Because if I can do nothing else, I will bear witness

to the injustice that is being done to this man.
